The terms and conditions of purchasing, using and refunding ferry e-tickets

Read these terms and conditions carefully before purchasing an electronic ticket – restrictions shall apply to any subsequent changes.

1. PURCHASE

1.1.   Fares for daily tickets have been set by the Regulation of the Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Estonia.

1.2.   As a rule, electronic tickets are sold up to 90 days in advance, with the carrier entitled to temporarily vary the period of advance purchase as needed.

1.3.   A ticket that has been purchased is valid for admission aboard a ship for the type of vehicle and passengers at the port and time of sailing indicated on the ticket.

1.4.   Payment for an electronic ticket shall be made via online banking, with the following banks as the available options: Swedbank, SEB Pank, Luminor Pank, Coop Pank and LHV Pank, or using a Visa or MasterCard credit card or by direct debit from a bank account.

1.5.   Before paying the fare via online banking, the purchaser of an electronic ticket shall check the details of any services added to the shopping basket and make sure that the services covered by the ticket actually match what is desired. No subsequent refunds on the amount of the fare shall be possible; however, it is possible to cancel a ticket up until the sailing (see clause 3).

1.6.   If any services or quantities are added to the shopping basket by mistake and do not match what is desired, the shopping basket shall be cancelled and filled anew with the appropriate services.

2. USE AND CHANGES

2.1.   The holder of an electronic ticket shall arrive at a port at least 20 minutes before the sailing indicated on the ticket; in the event of a later arrival, the carrier shall make no warranty as to the availability of a spot aboard a ship.

2.2.   Controlling e-tickets will take place on the ferry board.

2.3    On the Kelnase-Leppneeme and on Ruhnu routes the printout of the ticket needs to be on hand.

2.4.   The time of sailing and vehicle registration number on an electronic ticket may be changed on the www.tuuleliinid.ee purchase portal, by entering the preferred customer section, or via the link for changing tickets sent with the email or, if the ferry has not sailed yet, at a ticket office at the port on the day of the sailing.

2.5.   Changing an electronic ticket is subject to a fee. Fee rates have been listed on the service fee schedule in Chapter 1.1. of the Customer Service Manual.

2.5.1.  Adding passengers to an electronic ticket is free of charge.

2.6.   For changes to the vehicle registration number, the type of vehicle shall be the same as on the original ticket purchased, or else the ticket shall be void.

2.7. If the number of passengers is reduced, there shall be no refund. If there are more passengers in a car than indicated on an electronic ticket, the necessary number of additional tickets shall be purchased at a ticket office on the ferry.

2.8. After changes to a ticket have been made, the electronic ticket with the new information shall be printed out, unless the checkpoint is passed using a mobile phone.

3. FARE REFUNDS

3.1.   An electronic ticket that has been purchased or the sailing indicated on it may be cancelled and a fare refund requested at least 1 hour before the time of sailing.

3.2.   An electronic ticket may be cancelled and the fare refunded by submitting an application completed online (see www.tuuleliinid.ee).

3.3.   When an electronic ticket is cancelled, the refund shall be for the fare amount paid, less any priority queue service fees and the refund fee (see service fee schedule in Chapter 1.1. of the Customer Service Manual).

3.4.   The full cost of an electronic ticket shall be refunded to a customer only on tickets purchased for sailings cancelled due to the carrier’s fault or due to weather conditions. Any other extraordinary circumstances preventing the timely use of the service or the changing of a ticket shall be handled by the carrier on a case-by-case basis.

3.5.   Customers may, if they so wish, change a ticket instead of returning it for a refund (see clause 2).

3.6.   An amount refundable on an electronic ticket shall be transferred into the customer’s bank account within 10 days of when the customer is sent confirmation of receipt of an application and of the amount to be refunded.
